Proprietary AI Visibility Audit Measures How Organizations Appear in AI-Generated Recommendations – And Provides a Roadmap to Improve it

Vectis Strategies, an El Segundo, CA and Washington, DC-based strategic communications and public affairs firm, today announced the launch of its AI Visibility Audit, a proprietary diagnostic tool that measures how organizations appear when people ask AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok for recommendations. Once viewed primarily as a consumer brand issue, AI visibility is increasingly shaping how organizations across all sectors are discovered and evaluated. The audit and action plan to improve results are among the first offerings of its kind from a strategic communications firm, combining proprietary technology with senior-level counsel on reputation and media strategy.

“AI is radically changing how people discover and evaluate everything,” said David A. Herbst, founder and managing partner of Vectis Strategies. “Our audit measures how visible you are – and how you’re positioned – inside AI results. It produces a clear score, a breakdown of what’s driving it, and – most importantly – a roadmap to improve it. Whether you’re an in-house attorney looking for outside counsel, a tenant searching for office space, a donor researching a nonprofit, or a student looking for a college, the first question increasingly goes to an AI model. If you’re not in the answer, you’re not in the conversation.”

The proprietary audit, developed by Vectis partner for AI and digital Matt Pressberg, produces a scored assessment for organizations across four areas: AI response, digital presence, source authority, and content authority. The scorecard provides the basis for strategic recommendations from Vectis’ senior leadership team, resulting in an action plan to improve an organization’s AI discoverability and reputation.

The audit also includes competitor benchmarking, a knowledge currency assessment that identifies outdated, irrelevant or inaccurate information in AI responses, hallucination and prompt manipulation detection and a complete log of what each AI model said about the organization.

“There are dashboards that measure AI visibility, but most are not differentiated by industry and offer nothing beyond the diagnosis. Vectis’ AI Visibility Audit also provides a treatment plan. The roadmap is a core part of the product,” said Pressberg.

The AI Visibility Audit currently supports a range of industry verticals including real estate, law, wealth management, nonprofits, aerospace, politics, professional services and place branding. Higher education is planned as the next vertical to launch.

“From our decades of public relations work, we know every industry is different and so do AI models,” said Herbst. “AI doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all approach to learning about companies, and AI visibility products shouldn’t either. Philanthropic donors ask different questions than commercial tenants, and our AI Visibility Audit understands that.”
